Nutrition

A nutritious hot lunch and 2 balanced snacks are provided daily.   Morning and afternoon snacks are prepared on site.

For lunches, we use the services of M. Halpert Catering.   Halpert Catering offers a wide variety of nutritious and tasty lunches, using 100% natural ingredients.   Vegatarian and vegan lunch options are available as well as meal substitutions to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions.

Learning Opportunities

The preschool room is set up with engaging materials arranged in a way that invites participation. These daily opportunities include sensory, creative art, cognitive, dramatic play, science and building.

Through focused play, the children develop positive social interactions, language and cognitive skills while encouraging exploration and inquiry.

Rest

Nap time is between 12:30 - 2:15. We provide individual cots and bedding. Children may bring their own blanket and can snuggle with their favourite stuffie. Children who do not require a rest, are encouraged to engage in quiet activities at that time.

Music

Language, music and interactive games are integrated into our daily program.  Children sing, listen to music and play with a variety of instruments.

Reading

Our preschool library encourages a love of reading and literature . Our books are representative of our cultural diversity and reflects the interest of the children.

Designated "group times" provide children an opportunity to have teacher initiated expereiences, having stories read to them enhanced with props and finger plays.

Outdoor and Physical Play

We have a fenced-in playground on the school property with a climbing structure, slide, sandbox and bike path.

Children go outdoors twice daily with planned gross motor/physical learning opportunities.   When the weather is inclement, children engage in group dance and/or utilize the school's gym space.
